Pin the Tale

Pin the Tale is the most enjoyable way to connect with the stories that shape the world around you. Share your own stories about a place, and discover other people’s stories, using our unique map.

Our map uses the what3words grid. It divides the world into 3x3m squares and gives each one a unique address made up of three random words. These words are the building blocks of all the stories on Pin the Tale.

Sharing stories is an inventive process that will get you thinking about places in completely new ways. Using the words on our map, you’ll be inspired to create all sorts of stories connected to locations. Personal stories, histories, myths/folktales, poems or even completely fictional stories all have a place on Pin the Tale.

Discovering stories is just like a treasure hunt. Use your detective skills to find the location a story is written about, based on the information it contains and your existing knowledge. All stories you locate will be added to your personal collection of discovered stories.
